Studio connections are the World's leading professional audio cable designer and manufacturer.
With the imminent launch of brand new cables and product line, the client was looking for a new overall brand to reflect all their new product range.
The design incorporates the main letters of the company name, in an abstract design, inspired by a cross section of a cable. The logo is made to be adapted, so that a clear identity can be given to the different ranges of cable and other products in the Studio Connection range.
Vision West Africa
Vision West Africa - Financial Sector Branding
Brief: The inspiration for this design was found in the geometrical patterns, so often encountered, in the art and fabric designs of West Africa. There are 18 triangles in the design, each one representing a country present in this part of the continent. For local use, each country name is added, along with a different triangle picked out in a matching colour.
Design solution:The logo works both on a white background, or on the rich dark colour palette selected for each country. The main colours of the logo were requested by the client to represent, blue skies, red earth and green vegetation. The pattern of triangles can also be used to decorative effect on marketing materials, uniforms or interior decoration.
Urban Habitat - Fashion branding
Brief: This boutique startup company wanted a flexible logo, that included a symbol that would stand alone. The logo needed to be a simple design that used flat colours, easily adapted to printing on fabrics and coarse papers, cards and packing materials, using screen printing, litho and digital.
Solution:Urban Habitat provides a modern twist on traditional work clothes. With a target market across young professionals and students. The modern custom drawn type face with an arrow head used on each character, gives the logo a sense of movement, while the design can be used in various formats, to suit labels, T-shirts and marketing opportunities.
Flourish - Organic gardening company
Brief: Flourish is a small, organic gardening, startup company that required a simple elegant branding solution for their stationery, publicity and an existing white van. The clients requested that the logo used green as the primary colour and that, where possible, recycled stock be selected for printing.
Design solution: The Flourish logo evokes flowers, seeds, pollen and the rays of the sun. The symbol can be used together with a logotype or on it’s own as a decorative motif. Both landscape and portrait versions of the logo were supplied, which can be shown on a white or green background, as well as printed onto rough brown recycled stock.
Greek Street Grill
Greek Street Grill - Catering Sector Branding
brief: This startup company required a design that would be modern, but also appeal to a wide age group.
solution: Due to the different signage requirements dictated by the client, the logo was designed to be easily adapted to fit a number of landscape formats. The logo also works in single colour for printing of cheaper packaging options, such as bags. A repeat pattern of the symbol was designed for a decorative strip used in the decor.
Safely Stored - Storage company branding
Brief: This company specialises in the safe storage of paper and old digital archives. They wanted a subtle rebrand referencing an old logo and retaining, for economic reasons due to their large storage box range, single colour printing.
Solution: To use the single colour effectively the design is used with both a white and blue background. This two tone effect is followed through on documentation, where boxes and arrows draw attention to important areas. Business vehicles also carry the blue and white theme and the boxes can be stacked in a pattern for promotional purposes.
Scriptum Editions - Publishing
Scriptum Editions is a lifestyle, fashion and art publishing house for whom we have designed layouts for individual books and book series. We also worked on the styling of their website, which was set up on a customer content management system provide by Surface Impression in Brighton.
The book titles have included: Nautical Style, a book featuring the interiors of a range of historic and ultra modern sailing boats; Uncharted Waters, the story of the Cayzer Shipping Line and The Mini Lifestyle Library, which featured interior design from around the world from countries including: Africa, France, Cuba and Italy.
Colour Revolution - Lighting company branding
Brief: Colour Revolution is a new lighting company that is currently building it’s reputation in the stage and events arena. The company also intends moving into hi-end domestic lighting solutions, so the brief required a logo that wasn’t specifically linked to it’s present and would work in a luxury environment.
Solution: The logo emphasises the dynamic nature of lighting and the ability of modern LCD systems to provide a full colour spectrum. For stage and event lighting, the logo is presented on a black background, on everything from vehicles to T-shirts, while a white or silver background version will be used in the luxury domestic market.
Instant Journal - Scientific review website
brief: The InstantJ is a peer to peer, scientific review website. The brief for this project included creating a logo as well as web page designs. The client requested an uncluttered layout that, rather than promoting advertising, concentrated on the scientific articles.
solution: The logo, with the initials nested inside a circular motif, was created to evoke the idea of scientific ideas flowing freely around a central hub. For the website, the main emphasis is on navigation of the editorial content, with articles uninterrupted by advertising, which is only placed in the right sidebar.
Scan Group - Contract publishing design
Brief: Scan group publishes magazines for the airline contract publishing market. These include: Scan magazine, which covers the Scandinavian routes, along with Discover Benelux and Discover Germany, which cover the adjoining European countries. The magazines feature a mixture of articles, advertorials and adverts.
Solution: At scan Group, we worked closely with the editorial and advertising departments. This included collating the pictorial and editorial content and styling the layouts and front covers, in line with Scan groups brand guidelines and preparing the final files for print.
Fluens - Utilities company branding
This logo is for a small hydro electric company. The brief stipulated the use of two colours only, these being black and blue. The company needed to use the logo for many applications including: marketing material and packaging, which was specified for single colour printing only.
The design is based on the cross section of a turbine, with some shading added to give the impression of dynamics and movement. The logo works in both landscape and portrait formats. Due to it’s simplicity the logo also as it also works well particularly well in an embossed format.
Legion Publishing - Publishing branding
Brief: The specifications for this project included: simplicity, legability at small size, as well as in a single colour. There was also the desired expressed, for having a logo using a classic style, rather than something in fashion this year and out next.
Solution: The inspiration came from the design of a roman centurian’s helmet. The logo has two variations, one designed for the spine of books and another for letterheads, imprint pages and anywhere that the name of the company needs to be emphasised. The logo works equally well printed on white or reversed out.
